Visitors wishing to stay in Botswana for more than 90 days should apply for an extension prior to arrival, from the Immigration and Passport Control Office, P.O. Box 942, Gaborone.

Minors (aged 17 years or under) arriving in or departing from Botswana must hold their passport and certified copies of an unabridged birth certificate showing the details of the minor and both parents. Minors travelling with one parent or travelling unaccompanied must hold a Parental Consent Affidavit from the absent parent(s) and/or the death certificate of the remaining parent. However, an affidavit will not be required if the father’s name does not appear on the minor’s birth certificate.
