
Iraq VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR Libyan CITIZENS IN 2022
Key Things to Know
- Citizens of Libya must get a Visa to visit Iraq as tourist.
- Your Libyan passport must be valid for the duration of stay.

Passengers with a visa issued in paper format are not allowed to enter Najaf (NJF).
Letters signed and stamped issued by the Ministry of Interior of Iraq to passengers arriving at Baghdad (BGW), Basra (BSR) or Najaf (NJF) must be forwarded to the airline's station manager in order to receive an OK TO BOARD from the immigration.
Letters signed and stamped issued by the Ministry of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government to passengers arriving at Erbil (EBL) and Sulaymaniyah (ISU) must be forwarded to the airline's station manager in order to receive an OK TO BOARD from the immigration.

Holders of passports containing an Israeli stamp or visa will be refused entry in Iraq.
This does not apply at Erbil (EBL) and Sulaymaniyah (ISU).
Passports and/or passport replacing documents of all visitors traveling to Baghdad (BGW) or Basra (BSR) must contain at least 2 unused visa pages for entry and exit visas. This does not include the page reserved for "Observations" or "Amendments and Endorsements".
Passports and/or passport replacing documents of all visitors traveling to Najaf (NJF) must contain at least 3 unused visa pages for entry and exit visas. This does not include the page reserved for "Observations" or "Amendments and Endorsements".
Nationals of Libya, residing in Libya, arriving at Erbil (EBL) and Sulaymaniyah (ISU) are subject to screening and medical checks.

Iraq Government "N" series passports have been cancelled, and are therefore no longer valid for travel, regardless of issue or expiry date.
Visa Exemptions
Passengers with a signed and stamped letter issued by the Ministry of Interior of Iraq if arriving at Baghdad (BGW), Basra (BSR) or Najaf (NJF).
Passengers with a visa issued by the Ministry of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government if arriving at Erbil (EBL) and Sulaymaniyah (ISU). This must be considered as a visa even if E-VISA is written on it.
Passengers arriving at Baghdad (BGW), Basra (BSR), Erbil (EBL), Najaf (NJF) or Sulaymaniyah (ISU) with a birth certificate issued by Iraq. The name on the birth certificate must be the same as stated on the passport or other document accepted for entry.
Passengers arriving at Baghdad (BGW), Basra (BSR) or Najaf (NJF) with a Civil ID, an ID Certificate or a national ID card issued by Iraq. The name on the Iraqi document must be the same as stated on the passport or other document accepted for entry.
Passengers arriving at Baghdad (BGW), Basra (BSR) or Najaf (NJF) with an expired passport issued by Iraq.
Entry and Transit Restrictions
Passengers who have been in Iran on or after 1 January 2020 are not allowed to enter via Erbil (EBL) and Sulaymaniyah (ISU).
Passengers who have been in Bahrain, China (People’s Rep.), France, Hong Kong (SAR China), Italy, Japan, Korea Rep., Kuwait, Macao (SAR China), Singapore, Spain or Thailand, in the last 30 days are not allowed to enter via Erbil (EBL) and Sulaymaniyah (ISU).
Passengers with a handwritten passport are not allowed to enter.
